Perfectly Imperfect Story

During our childhood my sister, brother and I were always encouraged to play outside, explore, experiment, create and camp - always with our dogs in tow. My father was a builder, my mother a florist and creating things from scratch was just something that we did.
And so, when I grew up (which can be over-rated!), and had my three lovely children and numerous dogs and cats, guess what I wanted to do?! Yep, create and make! The trouble was, there were more options available now, and I had to make a more conscious effort to live the ‘farm to fork’ (or ‘field to form’ or ‘pasture to person’) lifestyle that I had grown up with.
After buying a small cottage in rural Suffolk, I had more exposure to nature and more space to consider my lifestyle choices. I gave up a 'perfectly' sensible job and started creating 'perfectly imperfect' soaps and body care products in the garden shed which my husband kindly relinquished to me. I used ingredients from the land that were beneficial to our skin and that were not laden with chemicals. Like the food I eat, I didn't want a long list of chemicals on the ingredients' labels of my skincare products.

After a number of years of studying, experimenting and creating, my products are now made in small batches in my workshop using simple, nourishing and mainly natural ingredients. Each product is unique, often has blemishes and is always perfectly imperfect! All products are approved by a chartered chemist to make sure they are safe and compliant. Whilst the natural colours and fragrances may fade in time, their skin nourishing properties should remain.
